You heard it here first folks! Dacotah Speedway will be hosting the first ever INEX Night of the Legends, Divisional Shootout! This is to be an one of a kind racing event that will highlight the booming class of the state, the INEX Legends. July 8th will see the states first ever divisional shootout as there will not only be one legend feature but two. Wait, there's more folks, as each feature will not only crown one winner but there will be two winners crowned for each feature! (photo is from LPT images)
Here's how it's going to work. The INEX legends has five divisions for the drivers to declare prior to the season beginning. Dacotah Speedway will be focusing on the four main divisions within the state and those are Young Lions, Semi-pro, Pro, and Masters (Golden masters will be added to the masters division). These four divisions will be paired off and will make up two fields of cars with both of them having their own feature for the night. But wait there's more!
Each feature will have a winner from each racing division. So, for the Young Lions and Semi-pro feature there will be a feature winner for both the Young Lions and the Semi-pro division. The same will take place for the Pro and Masters divisions in their feature as well. How it will work is that the highest placing driver for their respective division will be declared the winner. For example, if a master driver wins their feature and the highest placing pro driver is fifth, then the fifth place pro driver would be declared the winner. This unique event format allows all of the divisions to be highlighted and shares the spotlight to multiple drivers in the INEX legends class.
The Dacotah Speedway is not stopping there though. They have boosted the payouts for each of the two legend features as the each divisional winner will be taking home $500 and it is $100 to start each of the 24 car features. If the other divisional winner finishes third they will be taking home $500 instead of what third place pays. The rest of the feature field will be paid out where they finish in the feature.
