Tonight is the Quality Dirtworks IMCA modified special tonight at the McLean County Speedway and with the Dacotah Speedway taking the night off, this modified special is sure to bring in some of the best IMCA modifieds from the western part of the state. However, the modifieds might not be the main focus for everyone tonight as the season championships will be determined for the IMCA hobby stocks, IMCA sport mods, and the IMCA stock cars. All three classes have extremely tight point battles going into their final night of points racing and you can be sure that all of the drivers are going to be laser focused.
In the IMCA hobby stocks only four points separate points leader Trevor Haas and second place driver Vance Tomlinson. Yet, you can't overlook third place driver Kyler Satran who is only one point behind Tomlinson. It will be anybody's points race to win as a strong field of contenders awaits the top three for tonight's race.
The IMCA sport mods are similar to the IMCA hobby stocks as a number drivers can walk away with the points championship tonight! Points leader Christopher Zenz holds a two point lead over Christian Uhlich. The two have been in a tense power struggle for the top spot but they should not forget about the lurking Robbi Rosselli who sits just seven points behind Zenz. You can be sure that if either of the top two slip up, Rosselli will be waiting to pounce.
Finally, The IMCA stock cars are also in the midst of a fierce battle. Will Scheresky holds a three point lead over the veteran Stormin' Joren Boyce with Adam Goff just a few points behind Boyce. The IMCA stock cars are heading into a busy upcoming week with the Dakota Classic Modified Tour and this will season championship only ramps the pressure that these drivers will be facing over the next couple of weeks.
Other classes in attendance will be the Western Renegades Wingless Sprint Cars, the INEX legends, and the trophy class. Racing kicks off at 7:00 PM tonight as the grandstand gates open at 6:00 PM.
